Hailing from Belfast, Tokyo6 has been collecting records and chasing obscure sounds for over 35 years. Introduced to rave culture through his older brother and a steady supply of mixtapes from illegal parties, early influences such as Andrew Weatherall, Sasha, CJ Mackintosh and Luvdup opened the door to a deeper side of electronic music.

While friends gravitated toward happy hardcore, techno and the bigger names of the era, Tokyo6 found himself searching for something darker, deeper and more soulful. That curiosity led him to buy his first turntables, spending nearly every spare penny on records. Rather than collecting the most popular releases, he sought out hidden gems, B-sides and dub mixes filled with depth, groove and character.

Over the years his tastes have moved through techno, electro, drum & bass, dub, house, New York garage and countless sounds in between, always driven by a desire to discover something new. Throughout that journey, deep house remained home.

A major influence has been his younger brother, whose passion for rare music led to countless hours of back-to-back sessions, digging for impossible-to-find records and competing to see who could mix the strangest track into the blend. Those moments helped shape Tokyo6's approach to DJing: mixing styles, telling stories and connecting past and present through music.
