Fale FM welcomes Kelz (Kelly Zahn) is a Winnipeg-based DJ, curator and Co-Director of MEMETIC Festival.

Known for weaving together trippy house, deep tech, dub techno and underground grooves, Kelz creates dancefloor experiences that are both hypnotic and deeply immersive.

Away from the decks, Kelly is a passionate community builder dedicated to bringing people together through music, art and technology. Through MEMETIC, she has helped grow one of Canada's longest-running electronic music and digital arts festivals, creating a platform for artists, audiences and innovators to connect, collaborate and discover new ideas. Since launching in 2010, MEMETIC has become a cornerstone of Manitoba's electronic music community, presenting international talent while championing local artists and creative voices from across the Prairies.

We first met Kelly earlier this year at MEMETIC Festival in Winnipeg and quickly understood why she is such a respected figure within the community. One of our favourite moments of the weekend was catching Kelz go B2B with fellow Co-Founder and Director Nathan Zahn at The Cube on Sunday afternoon. Their selections carried effortlessly through the Exchange District, so much so that we could hear them from nearby King's Head Pub while enjoying a Guinness, crispy chicken fingers and Manitoba's famous honey dill sauce with the gals. It was one of those perfect festival moments where the music seemed to spill out into the city itself.

Another thing that never stopped impressing us throughout the weekend was Kelly's knowledge of music. No matter whose set we were watching, she somehow always knew the track ID. Who needs Shazam when you've got Kelz nearby?

As a curator, organizer and cultural connector, Kelly continues to help shape Winnipeg's underground music landscape. Whether behind the decks or behind the scenes, her work is driven by a commitment to creativity, community and creating spaces where people can come together through shared experiences.
