FOUNDATIONS #0009: KASHA T | LUSH STATE | 24.05.26 *

Kasha T is a Vancouver-based DJ and producer whose sound draws from older influences, early 2000s house, techno, and the weirder, groove-led corners of electronic music. A familiar face within the local scene and a guest on Azul Recs’ monthly show on bside Radio, Vancouver’s independent community radio platform based out of The Beaumont Studios Artist Society. bside has become an important part of the city’s music ecosystem, creating space for local artists, experimentation and connection across scenes. Kasha has spent years refining a sound that is both nostalgic and distinctly their own.

There is something exciting about artists who have been putting in the time, shaping rooms, collecting stories and developing their taste quietly, until one day the wider audience starts paying attention. Kasha T is entering that chapter.

We met Kasha after a connecting flight back to Toronto from Aotearoa was cancelled. What started as an unexpected overnight delay turned into one of those rare moments that travel and music occasionally hand you. We ended up catching a 6 to 8 hour B2B afters at Dolly Disco, then carried the conversation into breakfast at Paul’s Omelettery on Granville talking music, community and the scene.

Those moments remind us how connected music can be and how quickly strangers become collaborators.

We’re very excited to welcome Kasha T onto Fale FM.
