Meet Quaggsy, also known as Ben Gifford. A 32 year old, music-obsessed father of two from Essex whose journey into sound feels both effortless and deeply lived in.

He grew up on drum and bass and jungle, the kind of music that gets into your bones early. By 15, he already had a setup in his bedroom, spinning tunes and learning the language of rhythm from the inside out. What started as curiosity quickly became a constant.

We met Ben in the woods at Houghton Festival 2025, one of those rare weekends where time softens and music leads everything. Somewhere between sets and conversations, it was clear he was someone who truly lives for it. From that moment, Quaggsy naturally found his place within the Fale FM world.

His path took him through eight ski seasons in Switzerland, where he became a weekly resident at Farinet South Nightclub. There, he was not only playing regularly but booking and sharing lineups with names like LSB, Zero T, and Logistics. A chapter shaped by cold air, long nights, and a dancefloor that never really stopped moving.

As the years unfolded, his taste naturally drifted into the deeper corners of underground house. The pull of the Fuse London sound became undeniable, minimal, groovy, and full of intention. You can hear that evolution clearly in his sets today.

His current influences include Hamish & Toby, DJ Sweetsixteen, Dr Banana, Silverlining, along with a long standing admiration for Shanti Celeste. There is a looseness and groove in his sound that feels both nostalgic and fresh at the same time.

Outside of music, Ben is someone who leans into life fully. Skiing, golf, festivals, new conversations, always moving, always connecting. That same energy flows through his mixes.
