Slim J is a Queer DJ based in Vancouver, on the west Coast of Canada. His love affair with dance music started to blossom at iconic former Vancouver venues such as Index, Paradise, Letterbox and Dolly. Sweaty nights spent dancing into the wee hours of the morning at these beloved establishments, with djs such as Roza Terenzi and Alex Kassian, has since inspired and shaped the sound that has become his signature.

With an ear for throbbing proggy basslines, spacious, dreamy breakdowns, and sultry vocals placed with intention, Slim J brings a sexy, euphoric, groove based vibe to the dancefloor with a Queer focused point of view. Slower moments of introspection are sandwiched between cathartic release in a way that feels balanced yet unpredictable.

Having directly supported international artists such as Jennifer Loveless and Maara, he continues to hone his craft and carve out a sound that feels authentically Slim J as showcased in his mix for Fale FM.

About the inspiration for the mix, “I wanted to showcase a set of tracks that I’ve been loving recently, that feel like Sunshine to my mind but also might be nice to listen to on a sunny day and dance around your living room. It ended up being a bit longer than i intended but more music is better right?”
